Meet the teachers

Thirty-four AI teachers. Each learner chooses who teaches them.

Thirty-four teaching personas, with Hana in four looks and accents. They teach every EducationAI course, including The Point and A101: AI Fluency. Learners can switch teachers at any time, even partway through a lesson, and every lesson also comes as text to read instead.

Every teacher is an AI persona, not a real person

Each teacher is an AI persona with a synthetic voice. Their names, life stories and likes are written for teaching, and the course says so from the first lesson. No teacher’s voice is a recording or a clone of a real person.

Who teaches on video. Viki, Hana and Connie teach in full video lessons with captions. The other thirty-one don’t have full video lessons yet: they teach through the lesson text, read aloud by the learner’s own device voice, which won’t sound like the voice described for them.

Who is on the roster. The roster mirrors the US population mix (Census 2020), with 17 women and 17 men, and every teacher is an AI. Connie is drawn, with consent, from photographs of a real person; the other faces are invented.

Find your teacher

Not sure who to choose? In the course player, Find your teacher asks five quick questions about how you like to learn, then suggests the teachers whose style fits you best, and says why. It is a suggestion, not a test: try anyone you like, and switch whenever you want.

  1. How fast do you like a lesson to move?
  2. How do you learn best?
  3. When you are stuck or get something wrong, what helps most?
  4. Do you have a preference for your teacher’s accent?
  5. What else are you into?
